Madness have a bit of a reputation with the BBC. Apparently they're an
absolute nightmare on shows like Top Of The Pops because they never follow
the way things are set up in rehearsals and Suggs sings to whichever camera
he chooses. Add to that the fact that Lee nicked off with a jacket from the
BBC wardrobe in 1992, and you can see why the BBC hate having to have them
on their shows!! Good on you, lads - more power to your elbow.
Can anyone think of other instances?

Lee was highly amused by this, as the BBC cut it & apparently the BBC
thought it was too much pro IRA!! But they left the word nonce in the song,
which is what Lee thought they'd cut!
Suggs threw a handful of cash around & the BBC went nuts, because that was
offensive to poor people watching the show!, It was Lee's money & he did
collect it afterwards, it was only a joke, but the BBC have no sense of
humour. Lee decided at the last minute to wear the bishop costume, this
wasnt rehearsed so they got into even more trouble for not being compliant.
What a load of crap!
