The standard Lovestruck & JTH singles had 4 tracks on it. So why not stick
DFF / Elysium / Light Of The Way / We Want Freddie all on one single? That
was my initial point.

How so 4 tracks? Not any way that I count it. The JTH & Lovestruck CD
singles have 3 and 2 audio tracks, the ones with 2 having video tracks as
well. Or are
you judging by cassette singles or is there something I'm missing here?

Jeff is entirely right in what he says. Just to reiterate what
constitutes a single for the UK charts (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

A single has no more than 3 audio tracks.
Cassingles do not count (although they might now with the death of 7"
vinyl).
A single's total playing length is less than 40 minutes (remember The Orb's
39' 59'' "tune" about three years ago?).
Old-fashioned 4-track EP's no longer count (so Work, Rest & Play from 1980
would be a no-no)
I'm not sure if both CDs in a 2CD release count.
