Subject: Never Mind the Pritsticks, here's the McMadmeet !!! (part
2) ........Hiya again & now for part
2............
.....then it was time for munchies & as we
headed for Abrakebabra....I managed to receive a "slight ticking off" from the
local Plod for the horrendous crime of stickin' a pritstick tube at my forehead
as they passed in the van - some people have no sense of humour at all
:o)......anyway, eventually I was "released" & off for some food (which was
most welcome at this stage). Peter found Lovestruck on the jukey & we gave
it laldy, much to the amusement of the owner. Next it was to O'Henry's but not
before handing out more fliers.....the drink was really kicking in now & Wee
Stoo disappeared for a while (what was that all about Wee man ? & it wiz ma
pint that got spilled !). Then Iain arrived with his friends & his other
half & he promptly presented us with a photocopy of what was to be a page in
the next morning's News of the World - on it was a small write up about our
campaign - we were all chuffed to bits & it was pats on the back all round -
especially for Iain ! (& I was mentioned by name - Iain, yer a hero mate
!).
Next it was on to the our final pub of the night
where stayed till closing time, we said our goodbyes to Iain & crew
then MrG, Stoo & Peter came to George Square to see me onto
my bus home - which was just as well as it was nowhere to be seen - Mr G came to
the rescue & offered to put me up for the night & so after a phonecall
home & a bit of grief from my other half we headed off for more chips
(& more poster sticking) where I can vaguely recall the owner getting a bit
of abuse for reasons which now escape me.
Then it was taxi to MrG's where we all crashed out
for the night. In the morning we all very slowly came around (with thumping
sore heads) & after a coffee & a bit of reminiscing about the
previous days events we headed round to the paper shop & it was
cheers all round as we realised that we had infact made the News of the World -
plenty copies were bought. Peter, Stoo & I said our goodbyes to Mr G
(thanks a million for putting us up mate) & got the bus back into town
(fliers stuck on the windows of course !). Then Peter
decided he was going to pay
another visit to the girl from Buchanan Galleries (It must be
love....love....love - 10 out 10 for persistance mate - how did ye get on ?).
Stoo then saw me to the bus station where we said our goodbyes & I jumped on
a bus to Edinbugh..........
........the final part coming
soon........RobW
