As you point put, it's no real surprise to Madness ignored.

It seems to me that there is a complete memory gap of Madness' success
in the '80s. Whenever there are shows that look back at '80s music, it
always seems to concentrate on Modern Romantic crap, or forward to
Frankie Goes To Hollywod et al.

It's almost as if 2-Tone and the the period from August 79 to around
1981 never existed as far as they're concerened..

I never bother reading those charts now anyway. I don't think my
musical tastes (ska/reggae) fit in too well with Q magazine, so
obviously I'll disagree with their stats.
