Not quite, the first single Gangsters was by the Special A.K.A, then
A Message To You Rudy was issued by The Specials. The next single, the
Special A.K.A. Live EP was again credited to the Special A.K.A.
After that it was just The Specials again until Terry Hall, Neville
Staples and Lynval Golding left to for the Fun Boy 3 after Ghost Town.
Jery Dammers then recruited new members to form the new line up of
Special A.K.A. who released the excellent In The Studio album im 1984.
Sadly Gary McManus who played bass on some tracks died a year or so
ago.
The full Specials story is on my website!
