Hello chasps,
Please take time to read this. It is about the kakworm
currently doing the
rounds in e-mails.
First of all it's a worm not a
virus. This means it doesn't infect your
system just passes itself around - a
bit like shit on the bottom of your
shoe - it's an annoyance. It is rated by
Norton's as unlikely to cause harm.
The cause is a loop-hole in the
Outlook Express program code. The worm
passes itself along in e-mail
signatures. There is no attachment. Once the
mail is opened, the worm has
been transferred without the recipient's
knowledge. Those of you who regulary
update your virus software should have
no problems because it'll be
detected.
For more information, go to:
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/vinfodb.htmland
search for 'kak'. There is a link to the Microsoft website which has a
patch
to close the loop-hole (scriptlet.typelib/Eyedog) or alternatively
