Hiya all,
I feel I have to comment on this "Suggs is not a good singer" debate.
Well, for me, he IS a good singer, although I will agree that he is not the
best singer ever. As has already been said, Suggs has one of the most infectious
voices & indeed, personalities around. His dead-pan delivery gives him a
unique sound & I must admit that certain songs do make the hairs stand on
end -yes, it can happen to us males too ! (One Better Day, Coldest Day,
Prospects, When dawn arrives ...to name a few).
Sure, I'll admit i'm a bit biased because I love all things Madness so
much.....but something has to MAKE you love them so much & I have to say
that in my case, Suggs' voice was a big factor in this......as well as the
music, the down to earth attitude, the ordinary boys done good factor, the pure
entertainment, the nuttiness,.....I could go on & on !
Yes we love him, yes we are biased but this is the reason we are all on
this list....and that doesn't make Suggs a bad singer !
Also, on the question about gigs outside London - yes I have to agree with
Mr G - I was also at the Newcastle gig & there was something special about
that gig....it was my 10th Madness gig & was my best.....I think it was a
combination of the new material & the company (it was my first madmeet
!)What a day that was..............but to be honest I don't really think the
venue makes much difference, it's the performance....and as we all
know,.......... the only performance that makes it, really makes it, makes it
all the way, is the one that achieves MADNESS !!! & Madness it always is,
wherever it is at !!!
....Tell me something I understand, don't talk to me in circles.....
cheers the noo Rob W
