Two points to state.
First , At the Madness / Ian Dury auction , the vast majority of
money was raised by the sale of bootlegs. Be it Videos ,
Tapes or CD's - we were all bidding ( All who were there of course ).
I didnt hear anybody complaining.
Second , I have as have most ( for example ) the track "One Step
Beyond"on Legal releases be it original 7" , 12" , LP , tape ,
re-issue , re-master , liveor whatever about 40 times.
YES - 40 times ! And because I've got a couple of bootlegs with it
on does this mean I'm ripping the band off ?
For the vast majority of list members who have & buy everything ,
a bootleg is like a breath of fresh air to us. I'm not getting into a
"Im a bigger Madness fan than You debate" but for heavens sake ,
I've got about 200 official releases by them. Isnt that enough ?
