I've watched this discussion develope with great interest, and at last
someone posted a message that outlines exactly how I feel myself.
There seems to be quite a division here between those for and against,
but as Mike points out, the best thing to do is trade these tapes/CDs.
This then makes them easily available to all. If you don't have
anything to offer in return, then you can easily send along some
blanks and money to cover return p&p.
I really would love to see a Madness tape trading network develope.
I think we all agree that Vince Carden's series of CDs is exempt from
this argument, as the money he makes is put straight back into a
Madness project that must surely be beneficial to both the band and
the fans.
It's the people who charge ridiculous sums of money to sell what is
not theirs I have a problem with. As Vince F mentioned, he seen a
Wembley CD on sale for 40. How can that be justified?
Mr Smash said that some of those recordings escaped due to a mistake
he had made, but it doesn't give the person who issued them the right
to take advantage of that little slip.
All the best
Andy
