Hiya Pete and Paul and all you Mads,

I certainly wasn't trying to be rude about "The Manners". I loved them then
and I love them now. They released many an under-rated single after their
hey-day of 1980-81. It's just that I always thought of 1980 as the year
which Madness totally dominated. Aren't they on record as being the act
which spent most weeks in the singles top 40 of that year? And they had two
albums hanging around the charts for most of the year too. Did any of Bad
Manners singles of that year sell as much as Baggy Trousers and/or
Embarrassment? My gut feeling is no. But a brilliant top 3 of 1980
regardless of the way thy worked it all out!
Cheers,
Peter
