ladies and gentlemen having lurked for a while i decided twas time to say hello :-) my story is somewhat boring but heartfelt. i'm 32 and this is my own 20th anniversary ! my very first record was given to me for my 12th birthday - was 7" My Girl single and so the ball was rolling. from then on every 7"/12"/pic disc/lp was amassed and placed in its place of honour along with my ever-increasing music collection, to this day My Girl is still my fave song ever. during those dark days aka the 80's i was sad and lonely, stuck in the middle of the yorkshire dales with very little communication to the outside world. i used to pass the time writing crap epistles to various members of Madness .. one of whom wrote back several times !! Chrissy B is still a true hero to me :-) luckily i saw the maddies @ leeds uni on the 'mad not mad' tour - was still school-age - my dad kndly drove me there and went to the uni bar while i watched the most amazing show .. then fast forward 6 years to my new life as 'almost-trendy' student in leeds i ended up in Town and Country (London) seeing my mates (Age of Chance - rock/dance/noise band from leeds), at the post gig party Chrissy B was propping up the bar - i was dumbstruck. but this was my one and only chance - i introduced myself - to which he politely admitted to remembering me, i always suspect that this was politeness :-)) and then he promised he'd send me a live madness tape that was sent out to MIS members - thet tape turned up .. and so i thought that was it ... until Nutty Boys played a couple of gigs in Leeds - again i went along and partied on hard (i wasn't married and didn't need to go to work next day .. ohh the life !) again more booze was scoffed with Chrissy B, then Madstock happened. and the rest kinda dwindles into adult life,responsibity,work - boring stuff like that i still love the guys for being the most wonderful set of geezers, and providing me with many of the top 10 moments of my life, after birth of son, and my wedding :-) now thats over - i feel we will be friends for quite a while .. sorry for not saying hi before cheers mark e http://www.ireallylovemusic.co.uk _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
