The gig was absolutely blinding. The first 30 minutes or so were taken up
with the first Madness set-list. Then half a dozen Bad Manners songs hit the
ear-holes - sung by their very own Fatty!! Then the second half of the
Madness set. The front really was 'jumping and jiving around' - to say
nothing of their 20 watt amps!

Well, as with all good things, the gig quickly came to an end. The
Entertainments Manager (presumably) came to the mic to ask us if we wnated
an encore! Are bears Catholic?!! The lads trooped back on, and I jumped on
stage to speak to the lead singer. I had a request - Mike's favourite track.
The lead singer announced that they'd had a reuqest for a classical number.
That was it. Mike, Rob and myself up on stage for a bit of the old Chalky
'n' Chas! Even the lead singer joined in. Portions of the crowd were
completely bemused at the antics, but we didn't care. For anyone who doesn't
believe we did it, I have a great photo of Mike's fivehead - complete with
bruise. (Never head-butt a Scotsman!).

Well, that is our tale. We blagged just about every freebie going - hats,
shades, lighters, t-shirts and promotional bunting from behind the bar! The
band are fantastic - and until next April they are touring various Yates'
Wine Lodges across the country. There's even the possibility of another
Darlo BadMeet next April! Venue details can be seen on their website
www.badnessaka.co.uk If you get the chance, get yourself along - it's a
cracking night out.

Finally, I took plenty of photos of the meet (including Mike's 2-tone
graze/bruise). These will be up on my site in the next 2 or 3 days, along
with photos from the last DC meet. Included in the latter is a very rare
photo of the lesser-spotted Sarah. I'll post again when they're up.

Take care &
Stay Mad 8-)
