Hello all....

I'm with the good guys on this one....it's a disgrace. It's a lot of money
for something that shouldn't be in existance anyway! Bah!!
Off with their heads.

Well I certainly hope that this site DOES NOT get their 40 orders for "The
Lost"... for reasons listed below....

There are two Madness bootleg CDs on this person's site. "First Step
Beyond" at £15 (approx. $22.50 US) and "The Lost" at an overwhelming £38
($56.80 US). Absolutely none of this money goes towards the band, its
management or its label. Zero percent.

I'll take this opportunity to explain why I feel the way I do about
bootlegs, especially Madness ones. The band has seven members - so
obviously the profits from the sale of each legitimate recording are
split seven ways. "Well, that still has to be a lot," you might think,
"Surely the band must get 50% or so of the profits from each legit sale...
and even split seven ways, that is fair, right?" Wrong. You'll be
astounded to learn that Madness only gets 3% of the profits from the sales
of their recordings. THREE PERCENT!!!... and then that measly sum is
split SEVEN WAYS! That equals less than 1/2 of one percent.

But with recordings like this, this "Nijinski" fellow is seeing 100%
percent of the profits for things he did not write or produce himself.
You judge the situation for yourself... but I think that it's a complete
outrage.

Madness' label is also missing out on their 2% here. Copyright laws are
being broken. This person is probably charging so much for the second CDs
in case he gets hit with a lawsuit!!! haha

Supporting this site with your sales is supporting the exploitation of
Madness if you ask me. Make up your own minds....

Jenny
