Hiya Jeff, The Langmead and all you Maddies,

Hmmm, I hate to say it (no I don't, but it sounds nice to say I do), but
>TTBOMK "Our House" peaked at #7 over here, or so said the lords of
>Billboard.

This has always been a source of confusion for myself. Back when I was a
sprightly youngster and had a clear memory, *I* also thought that "Our
House" reached no.5 in the US charts. My head was always full of such
stats. For example the UK positions of "Our House" were 32-17-12-5-5-5 (2
weeks over Christmas)-13-10-then dropping down forever. Were there
different versions of the US chart? I'm pretty certain the US chart printed
in "No.1" magazine every week here in the UK had "Our House" at no.5. Just
as in the UK "Michael Caine" was a top 10 hit in every chart *except* the
Gallup one used by Radio One and TOTP. Still would have made it in the
Gallup chart if TOTP hadn't been reduced to 20 minutes the week "Michael
Caine" was at no.11 and so Madness didn't get on and The Cure were on with
The Caterpillar instead, even though that was a non-mover (if me memory
serves me right)!!!

Cheers,
Peter
