Your recollection of "Our House"'s positions frighten me, Peter, but good
job. As I recall, "Our House" climbed the U.S. charts right next to the
Kinks' much deserved comeback "Come Dancing," which made it one spot higher
to #6. Imagine U.S. charts today with two such great songs (possibly more)
in them and you'll know why I love the 80's.

Yes, there **were** different charts, but Billboard magazine's is and always
has been THE chart by which to go. Its rival then would have been Cashbox
magazine (I don't even know if they're still publishing it today). For the
radio-inclined, this was the difference between Casey Kasem & Dick Clark....

BTW: BIG FAT get well wishes to Buster. After Ian Dury & Kirsty MacColl
already, someone asked me who else's death would have affected me as much
and I listed a few musicians--obviously anyone in Madness but esp. Suggs,
Cathal or Lee; Jonathan Richman; Ray Davies and of the real "characters"
like Buster--guess I'll keep my big mouth shut and hope for the best.
