"rise and fall lacks any real brilliance "

i realise that 'worst-of" lists are personal opinions - but this i find amazing. ok its a dark record, with some strange stylings - but for me its their lost classic. the lp is a summation of what madness means to me .. they dropped the 'happy-go lucky style and revealed their true human sides ... ie true human madness,

its my favourite,

and as for mad not mad - a relisten recently made me actually rate this far better than i had remembered .. the melancholy atmosphere drips from the tracks.

i'm obviously the strange one round these parts - i prefer the darker/nostaligic side to the bands stuff as opposed to the early nutty sounds ..

Subject: [total-madness] worst madness

1..solid gone............total pants

2..If I did'nt care........a absolute crap record on the best album in the world

3..chipmunks are go..........desperate album filler (imho)

Worst LP..err none are bad, Mad not Mad lacks atmosphere but has great tunes. OSB is quite dated now but a classic. The Rise and Fall lacks any real brilliance

while I am writing, I must say Johny The Horse...I still play it 24hours a day 7 days a week, it is sheer brilliance, the best Madness record ever...

Am I rambling on?

Cheers
Jim
