Well, I suppose it's time to toss my fiver's worth in. I must say that
I completely disagreed with someones choice - although I don't
know who that was. However, each to there own, and there are
plenty of good songs to go round.
Worst three, in no particular order.
There are few songs that I have to skip when I am listening to
Madness, but Solid Gone has to be one of them. when I first heard
it I just thought it was completely out of step with anything they'd
done before and after - it just doesn't fit. Give Chuck Berry a call
though...
ANother of these rare few is If I didn't care. I just feel that better
songs could have been put on the album - You're Wonderful, for
example. It is dull and dreary, and generally not very good.
Someone mentioned One Better Day earlier, I used to really dislike
this one, and I do still think that Victoria Gardens should have been
released instead. ALso, on first listening of Rise and Fall, I thought
it was their worst album. I used to dislike New Delhi, but this song
does have some charm to it, although it is another song from this
album that gets my vote for my third least favourite song. That song
is That Face. Just don't like it.
Now for worst album. It would be The Madness, if this were
allowed, but, as it is not, I will have to chose another. This then has
to go to the remastered Divine Madness. Not for musical content I
hasten to add, but just as a waste of time, and aimed at those of
us who will buy it as it's a new madness release. Shocking.
