On this subject....there has never been any proof published or otherwise
that only 500 copies were pressed......all of the examples that you quote
(pun) could have been taken from a single original source....and we should
never rely on the band as they wouldn't necessarily be party to this info
direct...anyone at the time could have stated 500 and hence it would have
passed into madness folklore. I myself have copy and the reason I have for
not believing the 500 figure is that too many of them crop up, and too many
fans have them. Only the original paperwork at the time could prove the
figure...........probably!!!!!!!!!!!

Jenny....I quoted that there was only 500 pressed copies of the DQMOT 12'',
i myself do believe this to be true,Why? Well..1st There's my copy of Record
Collector magazine..(july 1992 p69)it states that DQMOT was to be a single &
that Stiff Records went as far as to press 500 12'' promo copies...
2nd...There's the Madness site by Alan Redpath 'Don't Quote me on That'...in
the discography section..it also states that..DQMOT 12'' there was only 500
copies pressed & if given the chance to get one u should grab it...
3rd..There's the 'Total Madness' book...by i think George Marshall...he also
quoted that there was only 500 copies..
& also finally, there'a guy i know 'talked' directly to Suggs & Chrissy boy
in 1999 about the number of copies that were printed, they also stated that
''as far as we are aware 500 is the right amount''....

Would it also be possible to find out from 'who or what' give you evidence
to prove this otherwise.
also if u are aware of which shops in America have this 12'' for
sale...please drop me their address :o)

all done...thanks,& here from u soon....Paul..
