Hi all,
I noticed that Party In The Park, that Madness played before to
100,000 people is on again this year. Last time coverage was shown at a
later date on both VH1 and Channel4 and Madness were on playing a fantastic
performance of Our House with the crowd going wild.
Anyway now to my point. It's on again this year without Madness. But with a
crowd of 100,000 teenyboppers and older fans attending due to the mix of
performers, coupled with ITV showing it live and probably repeating it here
lies a great opportunity. If shown live Madness could in my opinion steal
the show and tv viewers may realise that the boys have some great new tunes
out!
On a different note, through work I had been speaking to a couple of dj's
from the 2 main radio stations over here in Northern Ireland. As I've never
heard any "Wonderful" tracks played outside of Radio 2, I asked them why.
There response was baffling, both while claiming to love Madness said that
they did'nt even know a new record was released. I just hope both the band
and virgin have learnt from the release, I can't help thinking that with a
bit of advertising they'd have stole the show. Looking in the top twenty of
both the album and singles charts earlier - advertising and promotional
campaigns were a common theme.
"Oh am I mumbling on" I think so. Good to see some more activity on the list
though.
