I have had the
bizzarest of things happen lately and I shall devulge this info for your reading
pleasure....
Last Wednesday I
went into hospital for a minor operation to remove a cyst from the side of my
face..... during the consultation a few weeks previous the Surgeon advised me
that I would be awake for the duration of the Op and therefor could bring in
some music to listen to whilst they went about there
busines....
So having arrived at
hospital last week with my copy of Universal Madness in tow, I preceeded to have
the op. The topic of conversation for the surgical staff during this time
was...... yes indeed..... Madness. They couldn't believe how good it sounded.
During Swan Lake the polish surgeon remarked that it sounded like a James Bond
theme tune until she recognised the melody and then said what a brilliant cover
version it was.
I have had my check
up today and at the end she once again thanked me for bringing in the CD and
said that she could hardly keep mher feet still during the
op!!!
** Madstock DVD
& Virgin**
It was my 24th
Birthday yesterday and one of my mates brought me the Madstock DVD. I already
have it on Video (as I am the guy walking in with the pork pie hat on at the
begining) but the quality on the DVD is FAR FAR supperior to my little VHS
player.
HOWEVER I know it
has been mentioned before but the lack of input into the DVD presentation
astounded me. Now, was this the lads idea ie they had done documentarys to the
hilt, press interviews and alike and hence didn't want to invest heavily in the
DVD, OR was it (and this is my susspion) that Virgin and Eagle Rock didn't want
to add it. They could have done so much with it ie Karaoke style subtitles, Band
Members profiles, making of videos etc etc. I cant remember the orignal thread
that was on the boards about this and as it is remarkably quiet on the list atm
I though I would start this one up again.
Lets just hope that
if there is another albulm or new material on the way it is done on a label that
gives a shit unlike Virgin who didn't seem too.
