I haven't returned to the screen blanking issue yet, but I very much doubt that it will affect screen dimming at all.
If the purpose of screen dimming is to warn you that the screen is about to blank (giving you a chance to cancel it), then -- as Ken VanDine said in bug 1437510 -- it should always happen 10 seconds before the screen blanks. There should be no separate setting for it. If the purpose of screen dimming is *not* to warn you that the screen is about to blank, then what is it for? Why would you want the screen to be at one brightness level for 15 seconds, and another brightness level for 45 seconds? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity-system-compositor in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1494514 Title: When the screen timeout is set to one minute, the screen doesn't dim before going off Status in Ubuntu UX: New Status in Unity System Compositor: New Status in ubuntu-system-settings package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Status in unity-system-compositor package in Ubuntu: New Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: When set to two mins or more, the screen dims for 10 secs then goes off.
