Looks like your hardware is not able to get so high rate (see the xrand output). Its not because you set a modeline higher that your hardware will follow. Each piece of hardware need to be able to support such rate (cpu/gpu/ram/screen/cord/port)

I already have the `xserver-xorg-video-intel` package installed. I have *not* messed with any `Xorg.conf` files on this machine. Maybe that is next?
