On a Lenovo x201s and x61t with Intel integrated graphics (i7 first gen & x3100) it was since at least the release of 14.04 (which was a update series since 7.10 or so), on the Toshiba z20t it was a fresh installation.

If I disable unredirect_fullscreen_windows completly fullscreen windows are always distorted in this way. I both tried the original xorg drivers and the ones from http://ppa.launchpad.net/oibaf /graphics-drivers/ubuntu . And also the mainline kernel.
