Search history popup appears when switching scopes after performing a
search

Bug description:
Steps to reproduce:
1) switch to Home scope
2) enter a search text, and wait for completion
3) flick to new scope
The search history popup will appear for a few milliseconds and then
disappear.
Distracting.
