Title:
No sound, video playback choppy
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.04 (32-bit) to 11.10 via Update Manager.
Sound and video worked fine for a while, and then all of a sudden I
was unable to play back any video or audio content from any
application (Flash, VLC, Banshee, etc.). There is no sound at all,
and when I play video it runs very slowly, jumping ahead several
frames once or twice a second. This does not appear to have coincided
with any Ubuntu or Dell firmware updates.
Dell Latitude E6520 with nVidia video and audio chipset, running the
latest BIOS from Dell.
