Title:
Internal microphone does not work
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
I'm running Kubuntu 10.10 on an Asus K60IJ laptop. I've tried
fiddling with alsamixer, etc., with no success. I've also tried using
Sound Recorder, and the volume meter shows nothing when I tap the mike
or talk. There are quite a few other reports out there about
microphone problems in 10.10, but my understanding is that each
different hardware environment requires a separate bug report. I have
version 1.0.23+dfsg-1ubuntu4 of alsa-base.
I can't easily test the external mike, but the last time I had this
problem, in an earlier Kubuntu version, either both mikes worked or
neither did.
