Title:
[Inspiron N5040, IDT 92HD87B1/3, Speaker, Internal] Underruns,
dropouts or crackling sound
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
My sound started messing up a few weeks ago. I was using vlc to play
some gym music. High velocity sound and the sound started crackling.
I switched the balance to the right and it solved the problem.
Everytime I logged on I had to go switch to the balance to right to
get sound. One morning I woke up, switched on the laptop and all the
sound was distorted. When I switch the slider to right, I did not hear
anything at all. When I switch to the left, I hear crackling sounds.
I went to follow the instructions on ubuntu sound debugging. I
reinstalled my alsadriver several times. Played with the alsa mixer
controls and still no solution. I'm really frustrated. Some help would
be really appreciated.
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
