A patch for that will be welcome. As of Ubuntu 24.10 (oracular), you can use 3cpio to list/extract initrds. It will print following message when the needed binary is not found:
``` $ 3cpio -t /boot/initrd.img > /dev/null 3cpio: Error: Failed to list content of '/boot/initrd.img': Program 'lz4' not found in PATH. ``` Would you consider that enough as well? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to initramfs-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971430 Title: lz4 is not a dependency of initramfs-tools-core Status in initramfs-tools package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: lz4 is not a dependency of initramfs-tools-core, although it uses lz4cat in the unmkinitramfs script.
