@alecu: almost certainly not.

The latest updates contain gstreamer 1.5.2, which appears to be badly
broken. gst_init() causes an assertion failure inside gstreamer (at
least on the desktop), meaning that *no* thumbnailing of any video or
audio file is possible. (It also means that we can no longer land any
fixes to the thumbnailer in Jenkins, because our tests (correctly) fail.

If the above problem was caused with an image that still uses 1.4.5,
then it's almost certainly also a gstreamer problem. It hangs, produces
black thumbnails, or errors out at random.

There isn't a lot the thumbnailer can do about this :-(

Bug description:
  The Gallery-->Photos is showing for videos no indication about the
  content. It could present, for example, at least the date and time
  from the filename of the video. Without this it is impossible to pick-
  up the desired video. See attachment.
