IMO, the main advantage of having a HDD directly connected to the Touch
is that you can avoid a noisy PC when listening to music, and just use a
silent, fanless drive near your audio equipment. But of course, if your
PC is in another room, it's a different matter, and it could be more
efficient to use a HDD connected to the PC, with all the advantages of
the "full" version of SBS (in particular the faster scan).
