There are two reasons I can think of to connect a drive directly to the Touch:
- If you don't want to install additional software on your PC - If you want to listen to your music library even when the PC is off If neither applies to you, you are probably better off with a drive connected to your PC. rotho;524206 Wrote: > IMO, the main advantage of having a HDD directly connected to the Touch > is that you can avoid a noisy PC when listening to music, and just use a > silent, fanless drive near your audio equipment. It depends. My PC is ultra silent (fanless graphics board, regulated CPU fan, sound insulated case) and compared to that external HDDs are noisy. :) I would not want one between my stereo equipment. If I were to connect a drive to the Touch, I would go for a USB flash drive or an SSD. -- usch ------------------------------------------------------------------------ usch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33389 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76073 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
