Thanks for the info. I'll look into this tinysbs. I'm a performance and automation tools architect. My daily job is software and system performance. I generally don't make performance statements without testing. That's why even when developers believe performance will be a certain way I generally don't bank on it until proven (don't take it personally). I also try to quantify performance deltas rather than to state they suck or they perform reasonably well. I'd personally compare the two and take a few functional use cases and quantify the performance by timing responses whether that's UI or otherwise.
Of course Andy and others know more about the system and can guess better than I.
