I have read that benefit of FLAC also and I'm sure you are correct. However, why is low compression perfectly played and higher compression stutters and is variable across material?
It's no issue for me any longer and it was an easy process to convert the few 24/96 or 24/88 albums I have but I am definitely curious as to what's going on... Also there must be some timing/bandwidth effect as a hard-wired Ethernet connection is fine at the higher compression rates.
