KJAM, the continual rescanning has been driven by several reasons. 1) I had to tweak delete a load of duplicates (my USB harddrive is acting as family backup so have sister and GF's music on it, which overlaps). If I could have pointed at a file within USB this may have been avoided 2) I was then fixing the tags on the non-dupe's in their libraries. 3) Then I powered it all off overnight 4) Then I have switched it off numerous times to try and get it to behave!
I finished tweaking the files early this morning and this afternoon it seems to have settled down - we'll see what tomorrow brings. Note, since mine are embedded in FLAC they maybe handled differently ?
