It updated itself to the firmware version you state when I first connected it to the network (wired) and myqueezebox.com this morning. I've been using it with a local squeezeserver since I can't get USB to work and that works OK. I did try a random FAT32 4GB flash drive, which it did mount and start Tiny Squeezeserver and I could browse the folders - no music on it though.
