I am using ALAC, so based on the technical explanation above, it *could* be slow. But I am hardwiring everything as my router, Network HD and Touch are in close proximity to each other. I don't think I'd have major problems. As it was, in some preliminary testing, I was unknowingly running SBS on my Macbook Pro, pulling tracks off my network HD and I guess back to the router, then to the Touch. I had no issues. I can't imagine it choking that bad, if at all, if someone were to use MP3s instead by cutting out the computer entirely.
