And the second question is, how large distance would it need to be viewable to be acceptable ? I'm just asking to get a feeling if it's nearly acceptable or if the text would have to be viewable from a lot longer distance than it's now. My feeling is that the Touch acceptable viewing distance is similar to the medium size text on a Classic(SB3) but it's not nearly as good as the large sized text on a Classic(SB3). It would probably be possible to adjust the font sizes a little bit but adjusting them too much will require scrolling in all menus which would result in an user unfriendly interface.
