I'm the one that has made it work. There is no official way to do it yet. There is a thread from a week or so ago that goes into detail on what you need to do to make it work. I'm so swamped now I haven't had time to get the applet written that does it with a gui.
You have to be careful about what DAC you use. IF it takes a custom driver it will not work with the Touch. Dacs that will work with generic USB audio drivers should work. IF your DAC uses asynchronous mode it won't fully work with the Touch as it is right now. It will work and play music but not quite as good as it should. I have a fix for this in with Logitech but it hasn't made it into a firmware version yet.
