I found that when the automatic brigthness setting is in use the brightness level does not stay constant but sort of bumbs when the room is dark. The rate is quite slow, maybe 1 Hz but in an otherwise dark room the brightness changes that much that I coudn't fall asleep untill I changed the setting to manual. I have not noticed this behaviour in daytime conditions.
