Maybe Logitech (and many other companies, including Sonos) can deliver in Canada at the same price but instead _choose_ to charge a higher price. Why? A perfectly good and common explanation is that Logitech thinks Canadians are less price sensitive than their neighbors to the south when it comes to SBs. If they're right about that, then the sales they lose by pricing SBs higher are more than compensated for by the extra revenue gained on the units they do sell. In the US it's the opposite -- they profit more from selling higher volume at a lower margin. It's called demand elasticity, and it's not a hunch.
Maybe for the other unnamed products you refer to the demand curves in the US and Canada look the same. If that's the case, _and_if_ the company can supply both markets at comparable costs, then it makes sense for the company to sell at similar prices on both sides of the border. Like Goodsounds says, if you're not happy with Canadian pricing, vote with your wallet and look elsewhere. That will show Logitech that Canadians are price sensitive. -- aubuti ------------------------------------------------------------------------ aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78389 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
