Hmm... I think ejecting the USB drive, then re-attaching it has caused
the decrease in re-buffering, rather than any scan with a Disk
Utility.

I find trying to skip a track sets the Touch off stuttering at the
beginning and end of each track, this gets steadily worse with each
track until TinySC eventually crashes. Restarting TinySC starts a
"Discovering Directory Scan", when this has finished all proceeds
smoothly until I try to skip a track ... etc. ... etc..
