I have the same problem. The Touch is not able to play in USB-Mode HR-Flacs. Music starts after soms seconds rebuffering and so on.
Attached is a WD 2,5 HD with 16474 Files in 1197 Albums. 3 Albums in HR-Flacs rest in normal Flacs and 256 VBR mpr Playing normal Flacs and 256 VBR mpr no problems.
