Thanks for the info on the flac processing, interesting.

I too thought the night and day type exclamations people have been
making about the leap in sound quality must be due to better DAC
processing within the Touch over earlier iterations. I'm struggling to
believe that such a marked gain could be see when outputting the signal
digitally, particularly if the causes are as discussed in the thread
Peter linked to, namely reduced jitter and an improved s/pdif circuit.
Sure these could well be worthwhile and audible improvements, but such
a significant gain? I'm unconvinced (so far).
