Woodnut thanks for the reply. i looked at EAC but it was trying to get me to pay even though it's supposed to be free! i then looked at dbpoweramp and it was easy. i ripped flac at the standard setting of 5 i've not got the touch yet and the hard drive is on order. When i was ripping for the first time ever last night, beatles albums were taking around 5 mins and oasis/modern takes about 10 mins, real easy to use!
I'll have a look round today for the best prices for the touch.
