I did some checking last night and it looks like the code that changes server.prefs is in the server startup code somewhere. There are several places in the lua code that write the server.prefs file, its going to take some experimentation to figure out which one is the appropriate one to modify.
If this can be made to work then it can be distributed as a patch through the patch installer. That would male using it much easier. But I have to find out first what to modify, there could easily be unforeseen ramifications.
