There's a fairly large discussion about it with lots of angry people
vowing to never again buy Western Digital over at their forums and
nobody has been able to get rid of that virtual CD partition.

It would appear that it's got something to do with the electronics of
the housing and the firmware and there's just no way around it.

Still, it's USB powered, has an adjustable spin down time and spins up
everytime it's been asked to and just works perfectly with the Touch.
For me at least. So I'll put up with the loss of that partition.
