Hi there, I'm new user to SBT, and unfortunately using the device is not
always a pleasant thing to do.
My goal is only to use USB attached 80GB with 1 fat partition hd with
some music.

So what happened?
First time I attached the disk it was apparently mounted as
/media/sde1
So it somehow scanned the disk

After some errors with scanning I removed usb disk and powered it off
and on again. Wiped and rescan db..

The second time though, the device was discovered as /media/sda1

And now, when I look into /media/sda1/.Squeezebox/cache/squeezebox.db I
see some paths in it referring both to /media/sda1/...flac and
/media/sde1/...flac

I'm not sure if that's proper behaviour. This was the reason (I think),
to the player sometimes showing popup messages "Can't find the file..."
(or similar message).. and at the same in the /var/log/messages the log
was saying it can't find the /media/sde1/....flac while the device was
mounted at this time as /media/sda1! And the file played fine, even the
message was shown :/

So, anyhow... SBT looks like a great device and I'm even willing to
assist in fixing some software bugs or provide more info. Anyone
interested?

See you,
Tomasz

PS. Now I removed all cache/*db files manually and rebooted and did
whole rescan again, the device is discovered properly as /media/sda1
and db looks only contains /media/sda1 entries.
I'm just worried how should I remove the disk next time, so I don't
have /media/sde1 issues again :(
