The Touch is working as should be if all is well on the Yamaha. I would be willing to bet that the Yamaha is set to play 5.1 or to simulate it no matter what the input is. The Onkyo is probably like my Adcom GTP and auto detects what the input signal is and plays that mode unless it is over ridden.
As an example, if I play a DTS movie on my Oppo it sends audio to all speakers and the display says DTS. If I put a CD in the Oppo, I get audio from the mains and the display says Stereo. I have to press the 'Surr Mode' button and get to Simulate 5.1 to get audio on 5 speakers when playing a CD. Part of the drawback of the newer auto detecting A/V Receivers as they are very good at detecting exactly what format they are being feed. Don't understand the LFE with the sub unless it has to be a 5.1 or DTS signal. My sub on the LFE is active even when playing a CD and in auto detect mode. Time to read up in the manual and visit the Onkyo Forum. -- iPhone *iPhone* Media Room: Transporter, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, Ayre MX-R Mono's, VeraStarr 6.4SE 6-channel Amp, Vandersteen Speakers: Quatro Wood Mains, VCC-5 Reference Center, four VSM-1 Signatures, Video: Runco RS 900 CineWide AutoScope 2.35:1, Vandersteen V2W Subwoofer Living Room: Duet, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1 Kitchen: Squeezebox BOOM Bedroom: Squeezebox BOOM Bathroom: Squeezebox Radio Ford Thunderbird: Duet, Mac Mini Ford Expedition: SB Touch, USB drive ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81185 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
