I've seen the the problem on some devices with different channels:
- On some devices you need to delete the old connection settings when
changing channel of your AP, others pick it up and goes without
problem.
- If you are not in the US, or if some of your devices have different
regional settings you may be using different channels.  My AP can go up
to channel 13 but some of my devices can't connect to >11.  
- I had a problem while entering my connection settings on my touch
recently and the only way I could fix it was to factory reset it.  It
just didn't want to connect until I had done that. Can't remember what
I did wrong though.

I'm sure there are others running the router you have that do not have
problems on other channels.  It may just be that the other channels are
too crowded compared to 1?
