Hide SSID is uneccasry/futile it does not protect from anything only make things more incompatible, the AP still broadcast it's SSID in some other way that could be easily picked up (google), it is not really meant to be hidden and actually breaks the standard to do so.
The WPA2 encryption is the real security use a good password. So don't hid SSID Don't use Mac filtering, easily spoofed and it gives you trouble if you forget your settings and wonder whats going on, when adding and changing things ?
